A Dandy Dia! Beyond the Ordinary Right in the middle of the spring semester lies a spirited tradition that has been kept alive for over 75 years. Dia del Oso, or "Day of the Bear," is an eagerly awaited day off of class by students and professors alike. Originating in 1932, this day has evolved into a phenomenon that has students from other colleges finding themselves in Waco for the day. So Many Things to Do As the sun ascends on this marvelous day, you may wonder what there is to do. Imagine a canvas splashed with live musical performances, inflatable obstacle courses, and the food trucks. The air is buzzing with excitement as students get to engage with animals at the petting zoo, and artistic souls find fun in the crafting stations. So Why Go?
