Nature's Playground: Schroeder Park

A Day in Paradise

Cougar Park

Home of the Houston Cougars' baseball team, Schroeder Park (formerly known as Cougar Field) is truly a marvel to the eyes. Known for its spacious accommodations and fan-friendly staff, this is a must-see ballpark! The recently renovated facility has become one of the top college baseball stadiums. This baseball collegium can hold up to 3,500 fans but can accommodate 5,000 with the grass berm areas behind the outfield wall. It also boasts the second-largest video board in all of college baseball!

Beyond the Diamond

Outside of catching a game, there is a never-ending list of things to entertain you. The parks include picnic areas to possibly enjoy some BBQ, or if you bring a friend, you're welcome to throw a baseball in the grass fields! Besides the game, the area is perfectly located to enjoy other festivities, such as the Karbach Brewing Company, which is local and rapidly gaining a reputation right across the street, so be sure to visit before the line gets long.

Melting Pot

There is a reason Houston is widely regarded as the "melting pot" of Texas, and that is due to being ranked the most diverse city in the United States. While in Houston, Schroeder Park has a diverse range of activities and attractions that each age group will enjoy. You can take children to the Johnson Space Center or possibly museums like the Museum of Natural Science and Fine Arts. There is, of course, the Houston Zoo if you need any date ideas, especially in the winter when they put on a grand light display.

Escape to Tranquility

Schroeder Park is a beautiful stadium where a beautiful game is being played. If perhaps the sport of baseball is too slow-paced, you can always enjoy concessions or a stroll around the wondrous park. Being nestled right into campus, enjoy a quiet game and soak up the sense of community the employees have to offer. Schroeder Park has something to offer everyone. Enjoy a trip to this serene oasis!
