Reckless RoughRiders!
Swinging for the Fences!
Deep in the Heart of Texas
Being bored in Texas should never be an issue. Whether you're from Dallas or even California, there are a multitude of reasons to explore. There is nothing more Texan than to catch a ballgame on a late summer night. The first of many ballparks I will be leading you through is right in the heart of our great state, Frisco, Texas. Riders Field, home of the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders and formerly known as Dr. Pepper Ballpark (much better name in my opinion), was recently updated in 2015 and even built a lazy river in the outfield a year later. They have been setting records for attendance since these upgrades and even consistently have fun nights such as "Dude Perfect Night," where they brought in a whopping 18,000 fans!
Attractions
Being just north of Dallas also comes with great perks. The Roughriders are the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, just a few hours away, so it is an awesome experience seeing up-and-coming superstars in a local town like Frisco. Even if you are not the biggest fan of baseball, there are plenty of reasons to enjoy a night at Rider Park. Bleacher Report ranked them the 12th "coolest" Minor League ballpark in all of baseball.
Things to Do
Aside from the stadium, there are a plethora of things to do. One such as the National Videogame Museum. The preservation of something that was groundbreaking at the time is a unique experience you can only find in Frisco. Another is, of course, the Dallas Cowboys training facility. The Cowboys weren't going to let another sport shine if it's even around the Dallas area. Lastly, the ever-growing Frisco has a lot to do come nighttime outside of just a trip to the ballpark with things such as sports bars, breweries, upscale restaurants, and live music venues.
What to Leave You With
Regardless of whether you're just passing through or perhaps moving to an area near Frisco, go ahead and visit Riders Field. It may not change your life, but it can certainly open your eyes to new experiences and lead you to perhaps discover a new hobby or even find that special person on one of their firework nights.
